Good Afternoon PALL Family,
Public Health Department Update:
The Pasadena Public Health Department has informed us that they will be opening certain fields for Youth Sports this fall. This field permit use comes with conditions, allows for practice/drills only, and requires the following six key safety practices to be followed at all times: 1) Stay home if you are sick, 2) Cover your cough with your elbow or tissues, 3) Wash your hands frequently during activities, 4) Perform daily health screenings, 5) Maintain 6 feet of physical distancing, 6) Wear a cloth mask/face covering at all times. These safety protocols will impact the type of practices and drills we can perform, but we are committed to offering baseball activities that the Public Health Department will allow. The permit application dates begin on August 17th, and we will likely hear back within 1-2 weeks. Right now the proposed dates for any type of youth activity is tentatively set to start on September 8th and continue through December 31st, 2020.
PALL Fall Ball:
The City of Pasadena has a limited number of fields and times available due to planned maintenance at certain parks. For example, Victory Park will be available for permitted youth sports practices this fall, but Hamilton Park fields will be closed for field maintenance and turf aeration. At this time, we do not know how many fields or days will be made available to PALL, but we are determined to offer baseball to our PALL family any way we can as safely as possible. This may be in the form of assigned teams and practice schedules, or it may be in the form of skills clinics based on age/division. We will not know what we can truly offer until we hear back from the permit office on our assigned fields and days. If you are interested in having your child participate in baseball skills development and practices this Fall, please register at this link. We also need to know if you are willing to volunteer as a coach/assistant for drills and practices. Please be sure to register as a volunteer if you are able to help.
We are all excited to get back on to the baseball diamond. Once we have a better idea on players/volunteers willing to participate in the fall and our field options, we will communicate with the PALL family on the next steps to make baseball happen.
